Will permanent fabric dye cover print?
I have Dylon Amazon Green permanent fabric dye and I would like to dye a sweater that has black print on it. Will it cover it? Because I don’t want it to be covered. Thanks guys!
My standard first line of almost all dye related questions is: The first rule of home dyeing is that it is always easier to go from a light colour to a dark colour, and it is impossible to dye black a lighter colour without removing the black first. In this instance the rule should work in your favour. The lighter base color of the sweater will turn green and the dark black should stay black. It might be a greenish black, but it should still remain darker than the rest of the sweater as long as you aren’t using a super dark green dye. If you use a dark green the black and the dark green might end up blending together. But amazon green is that bright parrot green (if I recall correctly) so you should be okay.
