African Fabric Shops London

What name for a hand made fashion label??

My friend and I are currently working towards starting up a small fashion business. We are hoping to debut with our first sale in November and will be holding small stalls in universities and craft fairs to start with. Eventually we hope to get a website going and sell through that. We make mainly ladies wear and our stuff is a bit retro, a bit kitsch, some African print fabrics, some fancy pleats and stuff…. Generally quite eclectic, cute and funky. We are having trouble coming up with a suitable name, we have a few ideas but nothing that we are entirely chuffed with. We both really like the London Shop “Happy Loves It” and “ high tea for lucy lu” and are looking for a name with the same sort of vibes as these. It needs to be fairly short, positive and happy. So far we have “everything for ever” or “once upon a monday” but as said we don’t feel these are quite right so any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

Cheers…

This brand sounds like it’s a combination of 1950s Americana – innocent, feminine and restrained, but with a touch of independent poltical thought, a strong bound with friends, a budding career in a creative environment (ad agency, online media), perhaps an over reliance on men, and a soft but effective way of diffusing stressful and aggressive situations using gentle humour and calmness. It puts me in mind of Benefit. It’s a very feminine brand but it’s not weak. It knows what it wants but it doesn’t play traditional power games to get it. Couple of ideas off the top of my head

Frock ‘n pretty (my favourite but a bit risque)
