How do you get adhesive glue marks off of couch fabric?

I was using plastic patches to keep my cats from clawing up my couches. Instead the adhesive from the plastic patches are stuck on the fabric. I’ve tried alcohol, and fabric cleaner. What will break down this rubbery glue?
