Kids love having a special chair all their own. They also love having things just like Mom & Dad so they can feel like a big kid. Kids furniture manufacturers like Dozy Dotes have taken these two long held truths and combined them to create fun little recliner chairs for children. When we first saw these chairs at an industry trade show, I could not believe that no one thought of it sooner. I could not wait to check them out and review them. We’re did they actually have a cute look that was complimented with true functionality.

For functionality we looked at comfort, size, and usability. As a whole the kids recliners are very comfortable for young kids ages 2 – 7. They fit the body well in both the upright and reclined position. As for size it is important to make sure that the children who will be using the chair fits the recommended age range. It will typically fit kids up to the average age of 7 years old. As for usability the kids who tried the little loungers loved to sit in these chairs. They found them to be the perfect place to kick back and read a book, watch TV, and eat a snack. Some models even have cup holders so they will not spill their drinks. That seemed like a great selling point and a smart idea. It seems the manufacturer actually listened to customer feedback. Something that great companies do and also rand don’t.

The innovative team at Dozy dotes has been very smart. They provide a large variety of styles and fabric choices so that everyone is sure to find just the right combination for their kids room or family room. We wonder if such a large selection might scare off shoppers who simply can’t make a decision. Hmmm… is that why we have a two party government?

Here are the top five collections of Kids Recliners by Dozy dotes and our thoughts:

Kool Kitty Collection – designed with girls in mind there are six models to choose from. All have a fun animal print combined with a complimentary shade of faux leather. The Kitty line has a fancy flair and girls love them. For example the Cats Meow Kids Recliner Chair with Cup Holder is a kid’s recliner chair has a dark brown faux leather sides and back. The seat cushions are upholstered with a classic cheetah print. Four of the chairs have a cup holder in the armrest so that a child will have a place to keep her drink while she kicks back in comfort. The recliner is made of high quality construction and the fabric is extra durable to make it kid friendly.

Tranquility Collection – this line has a fun three-cushion tufted design on the back rest. It comes in 14 different fabric choices ranging from Hot Pink Microsuede to Camouflage. My personal favorite from this line is the Brown Bomber. It is upholstered in a faux leather that resembles the distressed leather frequently used for Pilot Bomber Jackets. It has a hip flair that creates an instant impression that it could only belong to the coolest kid on the block.

Stratolounger Collection – this line is a miniature replica of a classic adult recliner chair. It has a double tuft that creates a pillow at the top of the seat back rest. The spacious seating area is sure to please any small child as he reclines in his new favorite chair. There are 12 fabrics to choose from so choosing a favorite is not easy but the Navy Blue Faux Leather version is very snazzy. The dark Navy fabric has classic style and the faux leather means it is easy to clean. The perfect combination.

7 Button Tufted Back Collection – a classic in every sense of the word the 7 button tufted design is classy and elegant. This child’s upholstered recliner chair is a typical classic furniture piece that is perfect for any kids play room or even in the living room. There are 15 fabrics to choose from including 2 Kool Kitty combinations. The Burgundy is a perennial favorite and good for both boys and girls.

Contemporary Collection – clean and cool designed with a modern flair this kids recliner has a single straight tuft in the center of the back rest. It creates a comfortable pillow without detracting from the clean lines of the design. There are 14 designs to choose from including the Tumbleweed Micro-suede fabric.
