How to do this Christmas craft?

When I was little my aunt made these material covered styrofoam ball ornaments for me and my sister. It looks like she took a square piece of fabric and pinned it to the ball wrong side out. Then folded the material over the pins making triangle shapes. The ball got completely covered and there’s a strip of ribbon down the middle.
My aunt passed away a long time ago and we don’t want to take any of the balls apart just in case we can’t figure out how to put them back together. But I’d love to make more of these for Christmas presents.
