Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh, and considered one of the major cities of South Asia. Located on the banks of the river Buriganga, and has a large population over 12 million. The city is called the "city of mosques". Dhaka is also known as the producer of the finest muslin "" in the world, which is a kind of cotton fabric which is tissue, used to make clothing, curtains and other clothing material.

The country began to develop fully in the 19th century during British rule. Dhaka is now a center of cultural diversity, political and economic life in Bangladesh. Dhaka is also a place with many interesting places to visit. The city is rich in culture and beauty of fine people around the world love to see.

Here are some interesting places to visit in Dhaka, Bangladesh:

 • Lalbagh Fort – a beautiful castle on the edge of Old Dhaka. The castle was built during the reign Prince Azam in 1676. Prince Azam was the third son of the great Mughal emperor Aurangazeb. The fort contains large octagonal citadel walls armor. Also There is a mosque built inside the fort, and the Mausoleum of Pari Bibi, and the courtroom. Visitors can visit the museum inside the castle, which opened officially to the public.

 • Armenian Church – located in Armanitola, Dhaka. The beautiful church was built by the colony of Armenians during the year 1791. The church is a striking look at the old cathedral that its design dates from the 17th century.

 • Tara Masjid (Mosque Star) – one of the mosques unusual in Dhaka, also called the "city of mosques". The name "Star" was given to the mosque, due to the brilliant mosaic of porcelain broken. The mosque was said to have been built back in the 17th century by Shaista Khan. Opposite the mosque, is a star-shaped figure, which represents the name of the mosque.

 • Jatiyo Shongshod – Dhaka National Parliament building, located at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. Jatiyo Shongshod is constructed with a highly complex design geometric. The man behind this uniquely designed structure is the American architect Louis Kahn. It is considered today as one of the more clearly the future building Bangladesh.

 • Shahid Minar – one of the mausoleums and monuments in Dhaka. This monument was built to commemorate those killed during the demonstrations of Language Movement in 1952, when dozens of students and activists were killed. The monument has undergone big draw in Dhaka. His colorful gardens had attracted many tourists and travelers, both local and abroad.
