How to Put Together An Interior Decorating Display Board?

Hi!

I’m putting together a ‘mock’ portfolio for entrance into an Interior Decorating program at my local college.

I’d like to showcase my computer generated floor plan separately from my colour scheme/furniture display board, to present it as two separate pieces for grading. These two pieces are representations of the same room I’ve decorated.

What’s the best layout for the colour scheme/furniture display board, without including the floor plan on the same page? I’ve already ‘shopped’ online and downloaded pictures for everything for the room including wall treaments, floor treatments, furniture, fabrics and accessories. It needs to be clearly labelled, of course, but I’d like to lay it out creatively.

Any suggestions or examples are really helpful!

Thanks for taking the time :)

Place fabric swatches on your board (in a “fan” looks really nice). take foam board and cut to the same size as the furniture pictures-glue the pictures to them. Place these on the board at the tip of the fan so that the furniture photo is touching the fabric color it will be.The foam raises the picture up to add dimension and interest to the display. If you don’t have foam board you can use thicker cardboard, but cut it smaller than the picture so it can’t be seen(this gives a floating effect) Paint chips can be placed at the bottom of the fan(on the fabric swatch).
Hope this helps, if I haven’t explained it well, email me and I will try to do a better job of it.
