What plants or herbs, can be used to make yellow wool or any other tissue. What process is used too?
I writing a story and wondering what the flower or herb to be called, as in the old days used to die wool or cloth. As step (such as boiling grass or something)
The onion skins great work, you get a rusty yellow color when done – very nice. Some that I know of: Zinnia Coreopsis (Seed) Marigold Here are some U.S. plants native were used: yellow black oak – Quercus velutina Smartweed – Polygonum maculosa white ash – Fraxinus americana barberry – Berberis vulgaris Dock – Rumex sp.
