Fabric Iron Labels

How to safely shrink this shirt? It has writing on it?

I got a t-shirt I really like from the Nike store, the only problem was that the smallest size they had was an XL, and I’m a large. The shirt has a picture on it, not just in the actual fabric, but also with a design made of something shiny that isnt fabric.
The label says:
Machine wash cold with like colors (the shirt is white)
Remove immediately, tumble dry low
Cool iron (do not iron design)
Do not dry clean.

I don’t want to ruin the shirt, but it really is too big.
Is there any way to shrink it without ruining it?

Thanks!
by the way, this is the shirt:

The only way to shrink the shirt is to have it altered. If you don’t know anyone who sews, many dry cleaners do alterations. It doesn’t cost that much to have a shirt altered.

If you try to shrink the shirt by washing it in hot water and then drying it, you not only risk ruining the shirt, but the shrinking is just temporary, anyway. The shirt will stretch right back out after you wear it for a while.

Really…your best bet is to have the shirt taken in.
