Fabric Quilting Cotton

By admin, September 25, 2009 4:43 am

I need donations for a quilting bee for an underprivileged population. What large companies will donate?

Materials preferred: cotton, linen, denim or such fabric, needles, pins, batting, thread, irons, ironing boards, quilting frames, et al
I would appreciate it if anyone has contacts.

Sorry, no connections. And Michaels will not be able to help, they don’t really have the supplies you need.

Hobby Lobby: Discount but no donations

JoAnn’s: You might check out “Gifts in Kind”

It looks like Hancocks is doing something similar.

I want to point you to the garment industry, but I haven’t an idea where you’d start unless you live in Dallas.

Your best bet may be freecycle.org – they have locally based free item exchanges and many fabric hobbyists will have piles of fabric they have no use for.
