Textiles / Some help with Quilting Fabric please….?

I have been searching on the internet for this item, but can’t find the thing i’m looking for – if you are someone who works with textiles etc maybe you could help me…..
I’m looking for a thick, polyester kind of fabric that you use for quilting. But i’ve searched for batting & none of the things i’ve found look right; It is about 3/4mm thick, and is a kind of spongy stuff. You can sew your top fabric directly onto this. All the batting & wadding i’ve found is softer/thinner cotton like stuff…..
Can anyone make sense of my ramblings & help me out? Thanks xx

Not sure what you are describing. What you are finding sounds like needle-punch batting, which is very thin.

Batting comes in many forms – cotton, wool, bamboo or poly.

You could always use more than one layer.
