does anyone know of fabric stores that i can write to, and receive fabric samples from for free? any help gd

I am doing my GCSE textiles coursework, and need to send 8 letters to various companies/shops that sell fabric. however, I am at a loss as to what stores to send them to- I will include an SAE but no money. Does anyone know of stores/companies that i could send letters to, and receive a reply and hopefully samples? Thank you

if you’re taking a textiles course, have you at least been introduced to any kind of textile company during the course? has there been any mention of suppliers, etc. during the class?
SDhere do you live? USA? overseas? i’d begin with the retail stores and ask their local managers and corporate headquarters if you can get samples. a phone call and formal letter to follow up is appropriate. let them know whyWay’re asking. you can also ask them who their suppliers are and see if you can get more direct contacts for the suppliers. in big cities (NYC, Boston), there are smaller “mom & pop” stores that also sell fabric so you may inquire there, too. good luck!
