Fabric Shops New York City
Where can I find a fabric fabricator in my local area AND Where can I find a good fabric supplier?
I recently started my own clothing line and am expanding fairly quickly. I am trying to release a wide variety of products, such as jackets, flannels, coats, caps, swim trunks, etc. Because I plan to make my own products, I need fabric that is appealing to my customer base. If possible, I’d like to create my own designs on fabric and was suggested to search for a fabricator.
I also need a good amount of fabric that is not so common in a local fabric store like Joann Fabrics. I plan to make beanies for the fall and winter next year with acrylic. I plan to make swim trunks this year with polyester, but can’t seem to find a good supplier.
With all of this said, the best place I was referenced to, but have never been to, is the fabric/garment district in New York City. I know I can take a trip to New York as I live in the DC area, but figured I’d try searching for shops, etc. that are more local.
