You would not believe how many of these I've done my whole house and studio, in every color combination imaginable. They make great gifts and unique low-cost all year around and especially for Christmas. Start collecting soup, vegetable and fruits in cans of different sizes. The large tins are ideal for large objects such as toothbrushes, cooking utensils and tools. The short stubby cans are great for paper clips, nails, and odds and ends. So do not discarded any size.

Materials:
Rule
Scissors
Decorative paper
Assortment Tin Cans (cleaned up and disposed of paper)
Hot Glue Gun
Fabric scraps and Trim
Tape
Spray Paint
Ornaments

Basic Method:

Use a ruler to measure the paper. Must be the same width as the height of the can. Wrap the paper around the can to determine longitude. Cut the paper and leave about an inch of overlap for pasting into instead.

The rim of the can is very strong and must be covered. Use the light a bit of paper, cloth, or tape. Fold and wrap around the top inside and outside of the can and glue in place with a hot glue gun. Attach a beautiful piece of cut, which could be molded adjustment, trim and ruffled lace or flowers. If you are an artist you can also use sections of old paintings or paintings on paper and glue these into their cans. How exciting to find some use to his old things! There is always an interesting area in an ancient painting, which can be cut and recycled.

You can create the same using canned material instead of paper. Follow the same instructions above. If you made the curtains or pillows in a room, you can use pieces of the same fabric to create these special containers.

If you do not want to use paper or cloth, then you can also use the paint. Always cover the sharp edges or file down with a metal file. You can Use spray paint in gold, black or any color you want. Spray the inside and outside of the can and while the paint is still sticky you can add brightness and glitter. Once dry glue can also appliqué © designs in the can with a hot glue gun. Try doing sets of 2 or 3 in different sizes, but with the same color and texture of the items.

Have fun and let your imagination take over!
