Each element in the interior design of a room must have a purpose, a real function to be placed within that room in that position in particular. It is extremely important that each element appears as if it were to place effortlessly. After all, nobody wants to live or visit a house that looks too perfect to be comfortable, though, we hope all is beautiful and purposeful design.
Occasional tables are numerous and are crucial to how room looks and how it works. An occasional table is a term used for any small table, but more commonly cocktail, end and sofa tables. The sofa table is often overlooked as a tool for creative design. Most of the times are very long and narrow and some are designed with more than a shelf or lying on a stretcher between the legs of the table. Clearly, the most common placement of a sofa table behind the sofa, but did you that there are many other uses for this versatile table?
Here are some suggestions for the many unusual uses of common sofa table:
- Serving as support for ambient lighting and a place to display collectibles behind the sofa. Height of lamp test for adequate coverage and to avoid any emission brightness of the source of light. Place of collection in groups or clusters to emphasize its importance.
- A sofa table can act as a buffer between the wall and the sofa. Resist the temptation to place furniture directly against the wall. Nobody likes to eat turkey. Pushing all the upholstery to the center of the room is conducive to conversation and commitment.

- It also serves as a focal point when placed against an expansive wall of the lobby or a large wall in the lounge. If the sofa has top shelf only important to create balance filling the empty space below. For example, this can be done with a long bench, two smaller sofas or ceramic collection of large size.
- Sofa tables can also serve as a room divider in large open spaces. This helps to better define a space.
