Furniture Fabric Types

How do you clean/ wash a fabric bean bag chair?

I tried spot cleaning it, and the baby spit up won’t come out in all of the areas. I was thinking of taking it outside and hosing it down… is this a big no-no? It has the packing peanut type filling inside (little pieces). I was going to attempt to take the filling out and washing the casing, but the zipper isn’t meant to open. I’m a clean freak and cannot have a stained piece of “furniture.”

Suggestions? What about using the upholstery attachment on my shampoo/ steam cleaner? I’m desperate!
I also want minimal spotting from getting certain areas wet and not others.
THANKS SO MUCH Butterfly Lover! I actually used a paperclip to get a grasp on the pull of the zipper (they didn’t put one on so it can’t be opened by children I guess). Once i slid it over, it revealed yet another zipper and… the filling! Looks like it’s going to get a good washing! THANKS!

I’m not sure about the hosing it down method. It could work, but what about soap? Taking the filling out could be messy if the filling isn’t enclosed in it’s own bag. What about the bathtub? Fill it with warm water, throw in some detergent and let it soak for an hour. Swish it around a bit, maybe work on the spots a bit by rubbing them individually. You could rinse it offf with the hose, (although that would mean getting it outside without dragging it through the house!..maybe not) If not, rinse it in the bathtub, let it drain, wrap it in a big towel and let it dry outside.
