fabric glue for the backing of embroidery?

I don’t know much sewing/craft.. so please help me. My son has this shirt that has this cute embroidered robot on it. The backing on the inside is just a piece of fabric glued to it to cover up the uneveness. Now after washes, that backing fabric is coming off… is there a certain type of fabric glue can be used to keep it in place? The robot is somewhat big, without the backing it’d irritate his skin. Thanks.

NO, no don’t use stitch witchery. Go to a craft store and pick up Aleene’s fabric glue. It is thick, just smear it on with your figure put on the back on the patch and press down and let it dry. It should run under four dollars. Aleene’s makes several different glues make sure you pick up the one that says Fabric
