bought fabric at joanns fabric store yesterday and I found a coupon when I got home.Can I use it with receipt?

I bought 5.5 yards of one fabric and it cost me nearly $40. when i got home I checked my email and joanns fabric store had sent me a coupon for 50% one item. I know some stores will let you bring in the receipt, the item, and the coupon and they’ll give you the money for the coupon back in cash or back on your credit card. Will joanns fabric store do that? Should I return the fabric and buy the same length of the fabric again to use my coupon
