Trying to find a romance book.?

I’ve been racking my brain over this for about a month. It’s a historical romance book that I don’t remember the author’s name or the title. All I remember in the back description of the book the main male character is wearing a green tunic and he has a pet ferret. I know cheesy. The book cover has this fabric going though an old ring. I’ve resorted to looking up all the romance authors one by one. Any idea’s?
I think the author’s first name started with a ‘J’ and last name started with a ‘M’

There is the medieval romance novel called Rosehaven by Catherine Coulter http://www.amazon.com/Rosehaven-Catherine-Coulter/dp/051512088X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1242458038&sr=1-1 in which the male lead has a pet ferret, I believe.
