How do you make a photo pocket quilt?

I need to make a quilt that will display actual photos and documents. I have seen tote bags like this many times. I do not want to transfer the items to fabric. I have seen quilts that have clear “pockets”. I have made quilts before so I know the process. What I don’t know is what material should I use for the pockets? Clear vinyl? What thickness? What size needle and kind of thread should I use? Any tips or tricks? Better yet does anyone have a link to instructions? Thank you so much for your time and help. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I do know that you will need a teflon foot for your machine. It will make the vinyl glide through as you’re sewing.
