photo transfer to fabric techniques
Experience with photo transfers to fabric?

I am trying to find a photo transfer paper that will hold up to washing and drying. A couple of years ago I made about a dozen t-shirts using various brands, including some for transferring to dark fabrics. The ones for dark fabrics are pretty thick, which may be why they have held up better, but the regular ones started flaking and peeling after only one or two washes. I don’t know why–I tried to follow the directions exactly and think I did. Can anyone offer any suggestions on specific brands, techniques, etc? I sure wish we had a specific category for sewing questions and answers, don’t you? Has anyone found this type of question in any of the other categories? Thanks much.

I have had the exact same problem. I think the problem may be that these transfers may work best on fabrics have little to no strech as it seems the stretchier the fabric, the sooner it gets wrecked for me. Good luck, I hope you find a good answer as I am also curious to find out. :o )

BTW I don’t use fabric softener or a drier for my clothes and they still peel. :o /
