The Fabricator
How can I repair faucet holes in granite that are too close to the back splash?
My fabricator put the faucet holes too close to the back splash and I am having a difficult time finding a faucet that will fit or does not hit the back splash. Can the holes be patched or do they have to be enlarged creating an egg shape? I would have to make sure the escutcheon would fit over the hole, any suggestions?
You simply have the fabricator make you a matching pc. of granite the required width and length to cover the old holes. Adhere them over the old holes and then re-drill the new holes in the correct location. Have him bevel the edges of the granite pc. to look good. Simple as that.
Sounds to me like your fabricator used a thick back splash or did not consult you on placement of holes. I would say he should make this pc. of granite overlay and install it free since he messed up.
