What are the best fabric types for 50′s wedding dresses?

I am having a 50′s wedding, not a sock hop theme, just a 50′s classic attire theme. My grandmother is making my dress. It is a tea legenth dress and has a circle skirt. The top is boat neck with 3/4 sleeves. What fabric would look nice? I don’t like satin or silk. Thanks!!!

Taffeta is best for that type of dress. It will also hold a very nice shape for you. Sounds like a great wedding!!!
